There is nothing wrong when you get perfumes from the well know brands but you also run into the risk that everyone in the subway smells that same as you. Here are fragrances from independent brands which come up with the unique scents for you:

Sombre Negra by Yosh

The name of this perfume translates to “black shadow” and truly the scent is as edgy as it promises. It is a uniform for both sexes and you have a unique blend of citrus , tonka, orris, heart of rose, cumin, and nutmeg. Traditionalist will say this is a men’s scent but it is a boyfriend fragrance suited for women who like the warmth of men’s cologne.

Jasmin 17 by Le Labo

Le Labo is among the fragrance houses which produce the most unique scents and they put a big emphasis on the purity of fragrances. They usually focus on one essence and build from there. The number on the bottle refers to the number of raw ingredients used to come up with the scent. Everything is made to order so the oils are not mixed with the alcohol until someone buys them. The Jasmin 17 is a modern version of the traditional floral scents. It has jasmin, sandalwood, vanilla, and some musk.

Mix N’ Match by Tokyo Milk

This parfum kit from Tokyomilk allows you to create your very own scent. Every set gives you three scents which blends well. You can play and test it on your skin until you can get the scent that suits your taste well.

Tour D’Ivoire by Strange Invisible Perfumes

This indie perfume brand is perfect for those who really love perfumes. You will be able to appreciate the gentle essences and different layers of scents in their perfumes. The brand though is not for everyone but the appeal of the brand starts there, you need to love how it smells in order to wear their perfume. The Tour D’Ivoire has a sensual mix of mimosa, vanilla, French lavender, galbanum, and cocoa.

Everyone wants to get a great deal. A cheaper option but great quality? A few dollars cheaper than what we see somewhere else? Cool. You want that, that, and that. Here are some useful tips on how you can make most of your time and money when you go to the flea market:

When in doubt, do not buy

If you have to ask yourself over and over again if you have to buy an item or not, most likely you are better off without that item. Move on an d you might be able to find a better deal somewhere else. Go only for those which you really love to have. Your hard earned money does not deserve second guesses.

Wear something comfortable

Your number one priority when you are going to a flea market—comfort. You need clothes and shoes that you are comfortable to move around with. No need for high heels. You will not be shopping on high end stores. You will be hunting for good buys and you can start this right by wearing your favorite sneakers or flats.

Haggle

If you see an item you want, do not be afraid to bargain. Retailers in flea markets expect their consumers to ask for discounts so they actually have a margin for haggling. Be polite and be reasonable. You never know, the seller might just nod with all your haggling.

Walk away when needed

You are on a budget and you have to stick to it. You have to prioritize what you want to buy. If you find an item that is way behind the budget, walk away. You might still find the same item in the other stands for a cheaper price.

Wash everything

Once you get home, wash the clothes that you bought from the flea market. Just to play it safe.

Sneaky vendors

Be wary of scams and sneaky vendors. Check the items thoroughly. For clothes, check for damages and check for stains, check the buttons and zippers, and other things which you usually don’t check.

When you’ve been doing the same thing for a while, it makes good sense to periodically sit back and reexamine what you’re doing and your reasons for doing it. Where indie fashion is concerned, I’ve been doing just that. Sometimes I lie awake thinking about indie style, what it means, and how I can help bring it to you, the reader.

This blog is the place for all the information I’ve found on the best local designers, local fashion events, shopping and indie fashion news. When the site started, there wasn’t much coverage on local indie fashion, but times have changed, haven’t they? Today, there are numerous sites and blogs covering fashion and design news and events. It’s really cool to see how much attention is being given to the indie fashion community.

Our plan is to give coverage to independent, local designers and businesses that have traditionally been given short shrift by the mainstream media. Why is that? We admire the owners of these small businesses, and think indie labels are deserving of recognition, no matter how small their customer base may be.

Shopping from local sellers also makes the consumer experience that much more meaningful. It also helps to bolster the community; you will also know just where your clothing and accessories are coming from. Buy secondhand or recycled wherever and whenever you can!

I love indie fashion, and I think that many more people would buy local and indie if it was easier to do. It’s my hope that this blog will help you find local places to buy whatever fashions you are looking for. Independent fashion encompasses thrift stores, consignment boutiques, local labels and fashion shows, street vendors, vintage resellers, and those who make their fashions at their kitchen table.

Indie fashion isn’t about being exclusive or trendy. Don’t get me wrong- I love an expensive handbag as much as the next girl, but I don’t spend too much time obsessing over them or writing about them. There are plenty of other bloggers to do just that! This is a place for indie fashion, those who sell it, and those who want it.
